Green Card Lottery Photo Requirements DV-2027

1. Green card photo must be exactly 600x600 pixels;
2. Photo file size cannot be less than 54 KB and must not exceed 240 KB;
3. Photograph must be in JPEG format (.jpg or .jpeg extension);
4. Photograph must be in color. Black-and-white or similar options (sepia, etc.) are not accepted;
5. Color mode: True Color;
6. Photograph must be of professional quality: in focus, without blur, and without filters;
7. Background behind you must be solid and light-colored, without patterns or textures;
8. There must be no shadows on your face or on the background;
9. Face must be fully visible, not covered by hair or accessories;
10. Face must be neutral, without smiling, mouth closed;
11. Eyes must be open and directed straight into the camera;
12. Eyeglasses are prohibited (even prescription ones). The only exception is wearing glasses for medical reasons with supporting documents;
13. Headwear is prohibited, except for religious headwear worn daily, which must not obscure the face;
14. Head size on the green card photo in 2026 should be 50-69% of the entire photograph;
15. Eyes on the photograph must be at a height of 56% to 69% of the total height of the photograph (approximately 336-414 pixels from the bottom edge of the photo);
16. Person's head must be positioned straight and not tilted;
17. Photograph must be taken no more than 6 months before submitting the application to accurately reflect your current appearance;
18. Image must not be altered or processed with graphic editors (such as Photoshop);
19. To check resolution (DPI), the image must contain EXIF data. Make sure metadata is not deleted when saving the file (e.g., enable the "Save metadata" option in your editor).
20. Color profile of the photograph must be sRGB. Make sure this profile is used when saving the file.
